This message is to notify that Shalom Medical Centre is going Mixed billing starting 7 March 2023.

After much deliberation and due consideration, we have decided to stop bulk billing certain visits.

Patients under the age of 16, Pension Card, Concession Card, Healthcare Card holders will continue to be bulk-billed From Mon-Friday.

All visits on weekends and Public Holidays are privately billed. The charge applies even for patients under the age of 16 and patients who hold a valid Pension Card, Concession Card, Healthcare Card or DVA Card.

This is because the operational cost of running our practice has been steadily increasing especially in recent times. Though the Medicare subsidy has increased, it's still well below the Consumer Price Index over the last several years. As a result, we are left with no choice other than to introduce "mixed billing". This means aside from the circumstances mentioned below, there will be a gap fee applicable.

However, access to quality health care is our top priority and to that end, we would like to continue providing the best possible care, especially to those most in need.

All procedures will attract a fee as indicated in the reception notice.

Weekdays (Mon-Fri):

• Telehealth (Teleconsult < 6 mins): $40.00 (Medicare Rebate $18.20)
• Standard appointment: $75.00 (Medicare Rebate $39.75)
• Long Consult: $120.00 (Medicare Rebate $76.95)

Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) fee:

Fully private billed (Children under 16 and patients with HCC & Pension Card Holders will be bulk billed).

• Telehealth (Teleconsult <6 mins): $50.00 (Medicare Rebate $18.20)
• Standard appointment: $85.00 (Medicare Rebate $39.75)
• Long Consult: $140.00 (Medicare Rebate $76.95)
